Campfire stories

Storytelling serves as a way of understanding, explaining and reinterpreting our world. It helps create communities and teaches morals. Stories express our dreams and desires; they facilitate communication as well as entertain.

Campfire stories is an allegorical look at how storytelling can shape identity and a sense of belonging. Two boys occupy an unearthly expanse, regaling each other with tales of adventure, idealised futures and shared concerns. Campfire stories examines a romanticised queer youth and looks at the power of storytelling as a way of recontextualising and constructing new narratives.
